Sound has the potential to play a significant role in contributing to novel urban experiences. It extends its role as being a mere acoustic dimension of our environment. The sonic profile of a city, representing general characteristics of its soundscape, can be an interface of an audible component for an artistic experience. Shifting boundaries of conventional music, typical urban noise of cars, trams, bridges, industrial and commercial sounds become musical elements and carry information for aesthetics of music in various art projects. These projects provide us endless journey of vibrations in city and makes us pay attention to our environment in alternative ways. I will introduce and discuss the role of sound as a primary source of urban experience in our everyday life.
